The VFI / Sar-El program requires that you have adequate health insurance in order for you to participate in the VFI / Sar-El work program.

Sar-El NO LONGER offer Health insurance coverage for volunteers in Israel under the age of 65. See the Sar-El health insurance statement.

It is advisable that you contact your current Medical Insurance provider to check on the type of coverage they will provide for you in Israel.

If it is NOT adequate for YOUR needs - you should consider getting supplemental Travel Medical Insurance to meet your specific needs.

VFI can NOW offer an inexpensive Health Insurance from an israel Insurance company. The advantages are:

• Inexpensive - $1 USD/day - for those 65 years old and under without pre-existing condition
• No out-of-pocket expenses for normal medical treatment while in Israel
• You will be dealing with an Insurance company based in israel with knowledge of the local market and medical system
